Loans

You can borrow our books, pamphlets and periodicals:

• free of charge
• without prior registration
• for a period of one month
• five items at one time
• loans may be extended during opening hours (at the library reception desk or by phone), provided the book has not been reserved by another reader
• documents may be ordered at the library or by phone

Please note:
Reference books and periodicals for the current year cannot be taken out on loan.
You should allow for a delay of one or two days if the book requested is at the other site.

In case you need a document which is not available in our libraries, you can ask for an inter library loan.(see below)

Please address any loan request to the library staff, either personally, by phone or e-mail.

If you wish a document or photocopies to be sent to your home, the charges are:

• 15 CHF for a book or 20 photocopies inside Switzerland
• 20 CHF for a book or 20 photocopies within Europe
• 30 CHF for a book or 20 photocopies to other places

CHF 0.50 will be charged for each additional copy.

The library reserves the right to increase the mailing fee according to the weight of the books.

Inter Library Loan

The WCC and the Ecumenical Institute libraries are part of the administration system ILLRero and charge this service according to the regulations valid in RERO network. The costs applying to external users are:

• CHF 3.- for 1 document delivered by a RERO library
• CHF 8.- for photocopies up to 20 pages delivered by a RERO library. CHF 0.20 per additional page

The Ecumenical Institute library belongs to the category C in terms of accessibility, which means, that documents (Monographies and photocopies of articles of periodicals and monographies) are delivered only if there is no other holding library of category A or B (applies to special and industry libraries).

Inter-library loans are free of charge for WCC staff members and students enrolled at the Ecumenical Institute Bossey (on recommandation of their professors).
If you wish to order a book from another library of the RERO network or elsewhere, please contact the library staff.
